shifting at high rpms

Car: 1984 chevy camaro berlinetta
Engine: 305 5.0
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: stock
shifting at high rpms
my car is shifting from 1 to 2 at like 4000 rpms and i drive at 30mph at 3000rpms its a 305 5.0. i just had a new intake put on.could it be the throttle valve cable? if so how do i adjust?

Where the cable housing mounts in the bracket by the carb, there is a release button (looks more like a plate). Press that in and pull back on the cable housing. Release the button and let go of the cable. Slowly depress the accelerator pedal to the floor, and it will click the TV housing until it is properly adjusted. You can also just open the throttle from under the hood.
