Return line size

It has come to my attention by a few people that my setup may not work the way i want it too. Im going to be running a 255lph walbro in tank up to a 4309 Mallory regulator for my carb setup. Ive been told 3 times now that i will need to make my return line bigger or i will have pressure spikes at the reg. Does anyone on here have a similar setup or any input on this.

TIA

Just because seven people viewed doesn't mean they can help. Give it a day or few and I'm sure you will get some answers.

Re: Return line size

hey demon..im switching from FI to carb also. I'm running an external pump though and the 4309 regulator. I never heard of the return line needing to be bigger so I'd like to know if this is true also..

Re: Return line size

Try out the return line you have now, and if it doesn't work to your liking, then get a bigger one. I think you'll be in the clear though, unless you are running vacuum hose as a return line. In the box with the 4309 regulator, there is a chart with specifications for return line sizes, so refer to that.

Re: Return line size

how many liters are in a gallon? i have a holley blue oump on mine. it feeds a 1050 dominator. it comes with a regulator and requires no return line. you can buy these pumps everywhere for 120.00. we would really need more info on your engines fuel requirements to determine how much fuel will be return to the tank.
