newbie needs help

i just got a 86 z28 305, 4barrel. i have a high rise weiand intake and carb adapter, will my car run like **** with that intake and roch. carb. if anybody has a edelbrock carb for cheap let me know, lookin for a 600-650cfm!

Which, specifically, intake do you have? "high rise Weiand" doesn't mean anything.

Most likely, if it won't run well with a stock q-jet, it won't run any better with an Edelbrock. If this is an otherwise stock 305, the wrong "high rise" intake will cause more problems than the stock carb ever will.

(By the way, changing words to get around the Board filter is a violation of Board rules. Please don't get in that habit.)
