electric to manual
i have a 91 z that was a tpi car. i am about done building my new motor and it is a carb motor. my question is can the electronic fuel pump be modified to be just a pickup so that i can run a manual fuel pump on the motor. if so then if anyone knows what it takes to do it i would appreciate the info.
Thanks

There are lesser ways, but that's the only right way to do it.

Your choices are a stock '82-'86 carb pick-up, or fabricate the tube/screen in your originally-electric pump pick-up.

Re: electric to manual
If I had it to do over again I believe I would buy the mallory 3 port regulator and be done with it.
You could also just buy a T fitting and run one end to the mechanical pump and one to the return line. This would provide you a very low pressure stream of fuel so the mechanical pump wouldn't have to work so hard and would also give you the return line to cool the fuel and it would be cheap to.
