Just bought this piece of heaven, (1983 trans am with 305 auto and a quadajet) it was idling rough and after tune up i accidenlty left off air/fuel senosor on top of a stock quad. it runs great now.. a little rich tho. any suggestion on best fix? rebuilt it? Replace it?( replace with aftermarket?) will it hurt the motor in the long run (or just some nasty carbon build up)? This is my daily driver so i can't have it off the road more than a day mambe 2

Plug it in, disco the battery for a few minutes. Reconnect the battery and drive it around the block, see if it throws a code.
Drive home and use a paperclip to find the code. Something else is wrong, or your TPS sensor on the carb is fubar'd etc.

 

When it is hooked up it'll barely idle (shut off after lets say 30 secs) and it's a heavy car too push back to the garage.. LoL When I had it hooked up it didn't show a code but i'll check 2morrow thank you
