Alittle Help Picking out a new carb for a 460

I just bought a 1978 Ford Bronco from someone leaving town, I did a little research on it and found that the engine was replaced with a 7.5 460. Problem is whoever did the swap did not spend the right amount of money to do it properly and because of this I am running somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 horses. There is a lot of work that needs to be done on it for it to run the way I want it. I intend to make this truck strictly for track and off-road. Emissions don’t matter at all considering I don’t have to go through the process. First I want to start with replacing the stock cab (my guess came off the original 351) and manifold. Any suggestions?

Hey and welcome to Thirdgen?

Why is it exactly that you are posting a question about a vehicle that is in no way related to a thirdgen chevy? You would have much more luck on a ford or bronco forum.

ummmmm............ If the 460 is a super low compression 1972+ model, which it most likely is, a 600 is probably enough since it will never see over 5000 rpms. I ran a 750 Edelbrock on a 10:1 429 and it ran excellent. The stock intake manifold is a decent piece and I would leave it alone unless you really want to change it.
