New TPI to carb dyno results

I recently had my tpi 305 swapped out for a carb'd 350 that I had built. The flywheel results were 436tq at 2990rpm and 379hp at 4700rpm (thats as high as we went to tune it plus I guess it knocked my tranny out) not too bad for a gm block and heads and stock hei. If anyone wants to see the sheet I can scan it. this was a cheap build for the power.
Speed demon 650ve
performer rpm
comp xe262
Comp cam magnum roller rockers 1.5
vortec heads reworked for lift and valve job
speed pro coated flattop pistons
headman headers
no cat, flowmaster 80 series

Pretty good numbers. Wouldn't have expected that much with that cam, but looks like the parts like each other.

Are these converted numbers from chassis dyno results? What were the raw HP/torque numbers at the wheels?

(I assume this is a TH700R-4 transmission, not a TH788. . . )

Re: New TPI to carb dyno results

We got the rwhp to 300 before we quit tuning it and I don't remember the torque ( I'll scan the sheets when I get a chance) They told me to come back in 500 miles and buy a msd dist. and try it again. This same motor was actually built by hot rod magazine the article was called danger mouse. they got it over 400hp at the flywheel but with about 20 less tq.

The raw tq at 2994rpm was 1144.52 this number must be compounded by the gears. Here is the link to the build I did ( it's test #14)

I guess I should have been more specific. What were the corrected rear wheel HP and torque numbers? The raw numbers are indeed affected by gear ratio.

375HP at the flywheel from a slightly hotted-up 350 Vortec-headed motor I can believe. There are quite a few who have hit the magic 400HP mark but with a considerably bigger cam than you're using. That's a NICE HP number considering that cam is super torquey and very drivable, even at very modest RPMs.

I'm a big fan of very mild, low buck street combos that can still shock people with their performance- especially people who spent a bunch more money and don't go any faster!
