New carb help
I am looking to upgrade to a new carb from my 600. I'm looking for the best for my performance and am also gonna upgrade to an Edelbrock RPM intake manifold too which I hope is best. I was looking at Demon, but I dunno if I should get that, or a Holley. I was told get a 750 DP, but theres so many diff choices I dunno which. I have a Harwood Iroc Cowl hood which I haven't gotten a chance to measure but more than a 2" cowl so clearance on a Holley isn't an issue. I live in Michigan, it gets cold but I dont drive it much past November, ( was parked 1st weekend this month.) So in conclusion, what carb should I get to run with my current engine setup?

I'd say go with a Holley 700 DP. You don't have a particularly wild engine, and with the T5, you aren't going to want to hit it that hard. You won't have to rev it as high to avoid WOT bog with the 700 vs. 750.

Re: New carb help
If I plan to occasionaly take it to the track, does that change anything? Right now I am currently trying to upgrade my engine to allow it to reach more potential. I really like the t5 but want to get a lot out of this engine.

Re: New carb help
if you plan on modding the engine for much more power your gonna have to change out the t5. they hold up fine to daily driving but the first time you launch hard at the track and catch traction its gonna snap like a twig.

Re: New carb help
This is not trying to sound cocky at all, just trying to get an understanding but my current setup is near stock?
The thing that is confusing me is that I was told my carb is waaaaay too small (which I understand it is) so I thought I would need much bigger like a 700-750 dp (which is what I was told and recommended to get)

Manual tranny says go with a mechanical secondary (double pumper/double squirter) carb.
T5 says don't do anything to shock that transmission. The larger the carb, the higher the RPMs will have to be at WOT to avoid bog. 700 is probably safe, but 650 would be a guarantee.

a 650 would be what i would use for a near stock motor
