Tuning Demon
Tuning Demon
I've tuned my idle off of a vacum gauge several times to achieve the highest vacum possible. This should be the best tune at idle correct? Why does it still blow black crap all over the ground while idling? It's not a black cloud anymore, but I do get a black soot under the tail pipes.
Thanks

Re: Tuning Demon
Did you have someone put it in gear "obviously on the brakes" when you did this?

Re: Tuning Demon
lean it out another 1/8 turn and see how it runs, if initial tip-in has a slight stumble pop up then go back to initial setting as that would be best. More idle timing can also clean up idle mixture as long as total timing isn't increased at the same time.
Re: Tuning Demon
It seems if I go much either way from my optimum vacum reading it will get a slight shake. I figured with the new ignition box and new distributor setup it would idle alot better. Spark plugs are clean in the middle near the electrode and strap. But around the outter rim it has black soot on them. So I "think" my jetting is close but my idle seems goofy. Passenger side primary idle screw doesn't seem to change it at all. Unless I go way rich with it. So could that o-ring or seal in that screw be torn? I can turn it all the in with no effect.
On a seperate note. When I came down on my jetting it got an off idle stumble, but during normal on throttle driving and hard acceleration it seems stronger with a minimal black cloud behind me. I think I may need a larger primary squirter to fix that? Then I may be able to lean out the primary jets alittle more also.
Thanks again

Does this carb have the "EZ Idle" or "Idle Eze", whatever they call it?
