LG4 power steering question
I have an 85 z28 lg4. I need the bolts for the power steering pump that bolt onto the pulley and that bolt onto the block. Anybody have any idea what kind of bolts thread size and length i need and also where i can get them from? i went to my local junk yark on thanksgiving weekend but there were no carb v8 camaro's so i was unable to find a car with the right accessories for me to remove the bolts from

Re: LG4
There are no bolts to retain the pulley- it's pressed onto the pump shaft. Not sure what you're referring to on that one.
There are, I believe, 4 bolts that retain the bracket to the pump housing- I think they're still SAE (standard) bolts but in a fine thread and short- maybe 3/4"- 1" thread length. Those you should be able to find at the local hardware store if you take the pump with you.
The bolts that hold the bracket to the engine are all standard SAE sizes. The one weird one is that top-most bolt that the whole assembly rotates around when you tighten the belt (the fulcrum point). It's actually a double-sided stud with 3/8-16 threads on both sides. Install it into the head with a lock washer and leave the other side of the stud sticking out into the air bare to receive the pump bracket. I think you can still buy it from a dealership, or keep scrounging through the junkyards. Without it you need to use a bolt and a stack of washers about 1/4" thick to space the pump bracket out the right amount and keep the p.s. pulley in proper plane and alignment with the crank pulley. Trust me, having the right stud is a lot easier than bolts and washers.

Re: LG4
the pump is currently on the car but i will remove it and take it to the hardware store. Also would you happen to have a part number for the stud that goes on the top of the bracket?
