what's the best port to run the hvac

here's the scoop. when I bought the iroc that i have now it was a engine swap from a 305 to a 350 plus it's got a ncc carb edle. 600 now the hvac isn't switching form window to vents to floor. I'm 99% sure it because the vacuum line isn't hooked up.I know I have the extra port on the carb but it's in the front and this spring I want to clean up the engine bay i.e.get rid of all the cut wires from the old cc system. so is there any other port I can tap to getting the controls working with out have to run it of the front of the carb.also hopefully I can up grade to a air gap intake and a Holley 650 dp this spring but the money hasn't really been pouring in lately.I feel comfortable with tuning carbs now thanks to the help from this board but too sure of the Holley bodies. So I'm not sure with the vacuum ports on the holleys but will need one port to run the dizzy.

You need full manifold vacuum. You can get that from the carb or tap off the manifold runner, but ported vacuum won't cut it.

Re: what's the best port to run the hvac

k thanks, right now the intake I have has a spot that is blocked off probably about 1/2" hole +/- god only knows plus it's in the back so it's out of site which is what I'm looking for.Alright then does anyone know if the air gap intake has port that I can tap in to (probably go with summit's model)for vacuum

I'm running an air gap and it does have the port available.
