the motor is a 87 sbc and the carb is edelbrock 550-600cfm? and im having problems cant figure out what it is, but the engine wont stay runing and it idles really hi, ive re built the carb and i put a acell hei dissy, the motor used to be TBI ,any one got any idea what it could be?

Thats a pretty broad range of things it could be. Lets start with some more specs on the car to include the # off the carb bottom left corner. Followed by everything you have done since the last time it ran right and we can work from there. Right off the bat i would say vacume leak but lets hear your reply.
