Spitting gas/exhaust back out of carb?

Spitting gas/exhaust back out of carb?
Hey all..having trouble AGAIN with my car. Its a 305 4bbl quadrajet carb, 83 firebird. Start it and it runs fine (a little on the high side) rev it up a bit still is fine. Now, when i shut the car off, it puts a bit at 500 rpm for a second or two then gas and exhaust spits back out of the carb. Im thinking the ide/air mixture screw is set a bit high? But im not exactly sure. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks!

Sounds like the timing may be off a bit, initial timing to far advanced.
