Mr gasket clear fuel filter install question

I picked up a clear glass fuel filter for my t/a , was wondering if I remove the filter that is in the q-jet or keep them both? I planned on putting the new one inbetween where I cut my fuel line for my former edelbrock install. I have since swapped back to the q-jet.

thanks

Yea, you pull the one in the q-jet. Just make sure you leave the white plastic ring in there, that's what seals the threads there. (it'll probably be stuck in the carb body, and you'll never know what i'm talking about...)

Are you sure it's glass and not plastic?

If it's plastic, don't install it. A while back a member posted pictures of what was left of his car after the fire department left. Clear plastic fuel filter burst and sprayed the hot engine with gasoline.

I remember that. The piece of mind alone is worth the extra $5 for a steel one from edelbrock or the like.

I would get rid of that thing. They are a disaster waiting to happen. The stock filter is a good design and will work well in most applications.
