Wont start??

I had just replaced the furl filter, and the pump today thinking both of those were bad...

But I still cant get her to start, and I got a clicking sound coming from the carbs (from the top connector)
I cant really pin point this problem, and then I know the carbs were rebuilt sometime in the past 2 years when my dad was driving her, but I dont know if they were professionally done, or were done by him and someone else..

But I dont know why she isnt running, she was running the other day with stalling out issues, but I dont know what exactly the problem would be...

Need to get this fixed ASAP because this is my daily driver.. Im almost at the point in taking the bus to school and work, and just replacing the engine.. But I dont know how thats gunna work out yet.. I would rather just fix her, and keep her as close to stock as I possibly can...

Re: Wont start??

assuming you can smell gas from the carb, before diving into the carb, has a basic tune up been done? plugs wires cap rotor battery cables tight

Re: Wont start??

Yes I just did a full service on it, so I know its not any of the basic things.
Plugs, wires, rotor cap, oil, filters and what not has all been done.

So im not really sure what it could be, I mean if it starts up when I put gas into the carbs, then im thinking its not getting fuel into the carbs.. I have plenty of pressure and volume when I get to the filter, but after that I dont know whats going on.

Re: Wont start??

No vacuum leaks as far as I can tell. Or hear..

Its a 1985 Camaro, 305 5.0.. And I'll pull the numbers off the carbs in the morning when I get back from court for my traffic ticket

Re: Wont start??

that's a drag. well, might check timing when it's warmed up and idling somewhere around 500 - 750 rpm in park. for my 87 the book says 0 degrees tdc (check under hood for sticker stating timing for your car). unplug computer from the distrbutor w/ car off, then start car w/ timing light. there are l lot of other threads on timing too
