Holley Carb...Hole in Main body?
Holley Carb...Hole in Main body?
Hello,
I have been chasing a problem with a Holley Carb and from what we found...(rich condition on plugs and carb) the carb was actually getting black on the back side)
I think it is the power valve but when I pulled it out it looked pretty good and the rubber part was not broken....after looking closer it looks as if there is a slight hole in the actual main body of the carb where the power valve would go into...i can not remember if this was like this when i first got the carb or this is some sort of wear...basically i looks like a flaw in the cast of it...this hole is in the impression of front of the plate of the main body....does this sound like a problem or is this a flaw that has no effect?
THank you.

The holes in the main body provide manifold vacuum to the power valve to close it. When manifold vacuum drops, the power valve opens.
