SWAPPING tpi to carb..help..

Hello all,

im new here and a new owner of a 88' iroc z28, Ive never really had interest in f-bodies but i ended up with one!

well the car is already pretty done up. mod list as follows

350 .30 over
lt4 hot cam,
Accel super ram intake
Twisted wedge heads
full roller valvetrain
1.6 ratio rocker arms
SLP headers, and full 3" cat back
Full suspension HOTCHKIS
vigilante 3200 stall
bowtie overdrive stg 4

Its basically going to be a weeked/track/maybe once a week car. i dont care about milage. I want to swap out the tpi for a good old carb setup. throw some squeeze at it. play with it until it goes. and build something with some real power.

what exactly do i need to do this? obviously Manifold, carb, ignition. anything special like a throttle adpt or anything?

thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

First, read the tech article on the topic https://www.thirdgen.org/carbswap . That link is also in the sticky "Welcome to the Carb Board; Please Read" in the top section of this forum.

with my setup would a 750dp be too much carb? im going to run a 100shot so im thinking i might be good when i squeeze, but not when driving around normally on the street.

750 is on the large side, but with 3200 stall and a healthy cam, it'll be fine.

Nitrous doesn't affect the carb size.

for those of you that have swapped from tbi to carb, what do you keep from the stock harness? im not using any of the accsesories ac/smog ect.. basically going to be a straight carburated motor. simple and clean. no more ecu.

Everything comeing out of the pass. side wheel well you dont need. Your going to have to buy one of those 700R4 lockup kits from summit or jegs, so you trans doesnt over heat.
