4-hole or Open hole carb gaskets??

I am running a 4-hole 1/2" spacer on my RPM Air-Gap. Would it be best to use a 4-hole or open hole gasket underneath the spacer? This is a 1/4" gasket to clear my booster fitting.

You should just get a 1" spacer and call it a day.Use and open gasket on the top and the bottom and your done.

What are you doing with the threaded hole on the runner on the passenger side in the rear? Thats where you should plug you booster into. Then plug the pcv into the back of the carb.

I wouldnt, then your only getting vacuum from one cylender. I had a problem with my brakes feeling hard. When I swapped the fitting from amnifold to carb there was a good improvement. I am not sure what carb you have but normally theres a big PCV fitting in the front.. Then normally a vac. advance fitting or 2 somewhere.

Tha tapped hole in the back of intake isnt just taking vaccum of one runner its off the whole intake. And If he has a demon like in his sig the pcv needs to be hooked to the back of the carb.

Use the open gasket. You don't want the unsupported areas of a 4-hole gasket sagging and flopping around underneath the spacer.

90* Fitting for the booster. PCV is in the rear of the carb.

Demon's have one 3/8" fitting for PCV or booster in the rear and two smaller fittings (one ported or timed and one direct) on the passenger side.

pcv should go to intake and the carb should have the booster if the vacuum fitting is only in 1 runner of the intake

Re: 4-hole or Open hole carb gaskets??

There was a discussion about doing that and we figured it could lean out the #8 cylinder since the PCV is a constant vacuum loss while the booster is sealed.

Now it is brought up the booster still might not give full braking assistance due to only pulling vacuum from one cylinder, I don't think this would be as much the case.

Re: 4-hole or Open hole carb gaskets??

I added a 4-hole 1/2 inch phenolic spacer to cool my carb. I used a 4-hole gasket on top and a open on the bottom. The carb is cooler now.

I swapped from a Holley 3310 750vs carb to a Holley 750 Street HP. The Street HP has the fitting in back for the brake booster and another large port in front for the PCV.

oh yeah, I am running the RPM Airgap also. All under a stock 92 Z hood.

could always use the 4 hole gasket and just gasket match the spacer. or turn the 4 hole into a single hole spacer (cut out the cross in the center and blend it).
