wiring issues please help

we are swappin a tpi to carb in a 90 iroc, i have read many threads about what wiring is needed and not needed and it has me concused, they say to take the whole computer harness out and i am working on that. some of the wires run back into the drivers side from the ecm. if someone could help me with which ones i need and dont need, and if i have to relocate or change power sources or anyhting like that id really appreciate it. ive used diagrams from autozone but there are wires in the ecm plug not even on that. if someone who has done this and knows what wires eactly or some pictures it would of great help, thanks

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

You don't have to take the ECM wires out, but it is cleaner if you do.

Disconnect the connectors from the ECM. The part that goes to the fenderwell comes out, the part that goes to the dash just stays there.

If you have an automatic transmission, the torque converter lock-up harness leg will come out with the ECM harness. It's a good idea to have that functioning. You'll either need to rewire that, or get a stand-alone aftermarket kit.

The rest of the engine operating wires will be separate from the ECM harness.
