Tuning Carb on L69

Transmission: 700-R4
Axle/Gears: 2.73's
Tuning Carb on L69
Ok so my motor was running really rough, and then wouldn't start so I replaced the spark plugs, and it started like new, but then every time I let off the gas it would be good for like 6 seconds and then slowly die, and the exhaust is blowing black smoke, so I think it's getting to much gas and not enough air, but I have no clue on how to tune a carb, can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks

Kinda sounds like the carb is flooding. Means it needs a cleaning and/or rebuild, not tuning.
