INSTALLING THE K&N X-STREAM SETUP ON MY 85 5.0 305. HERE IS MY QUESTION, WHEN I REMOVE THE TOP COVER TO THE AIR FILTER THERE IS A LITTLE THING THAT SAYS AIR ON IT WITH A VACUUM LINE TO THE CARB. WHEN I PUT THE K&N ON SHE BOGS RIGHT OUT AND DOES NOT WANT TO START. DO I JUT PUT A CAP OVER WHERE THE VACUUM LINE WAS AND A BREATHER ON THE VALVE COVER OR WHAT....AND WHAT IS THIS THING IS IT THE CHOKE?

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG HERE I FEEL LIKE SUCH A NOOB WITH THIS QUESTION BUT THIS IS MY FIRST CARB CAR. I AM USE TO FUEL INJECTED LOL. I HAVE PUT ON PROBIBLY 15 INTAKES ON CARS OF MINE OVER THE YEARS THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER BEEN STUMPED.

I have the same car, same motor and I think your mixing up hoses my friend. If you have the stock air cleaner and intake then there should be one breather from the passenger side valve cover into the air cleaner assembly (little orange thingy IIRC). There is also a tiny little vacuum hose that runs from the intake tubing. Couldn't tell you where that went cause mine wasn't hooked up. Check to make sure what you think is vacuum is vacuum. Stick a finger on it with the car running. Something along those lines. If it is vacuum, cap it and see what happens. Best advice I can give without *seeing* the problem. Hope it helps.
