If you have headers, this could be caused by starter "Heat soak". A starter heat shield should solve the problem.

It starts fine when it's cold. But what happens when the car has been run for a while is the heat from the headers "soaks" into the starter, making it hard to turn over until the starter has cooled down.

Re: things to do about hard start when warm
no prob after reading alot on here i have come to realize my car does not have a air dam with all the front end transfering who would of guess they would leave that out lol anyway after driving about an hour on the highway i poped the hood and everything in the bay was hot even the air filter on top of the carb wish i new what my engine temps were but i dont have a guage at the moment or at least the one for my car isnt working so im guessing the heat is soaking into the carb and boiling the fuel maybe ??

If you have to floor it to start it, that indicates a flooding or over-choking condition. In a couple of minutes it's possible that the fuel is boiling and spilling over into the intake manifold. Also possible (but less likely after only a couple of minutes) that the choke is closing while shut off when it should still be open for the engine to start properly (assuming you have an electric choke).
Check the float levels, and perhaps back the choke off a little.
