extra wires on an 83
extra wires on an 83
when we got the car, it had a qjet on it.....i dont know if this was an original carb car or tb.....question is, i have all of these wires under the hood, what are they for and how to get rid of them? also, my fuel tank groans and there is a lot of pressure that builds up in it, the cap blows off in my hand when i take it off

Top picture: Looks like the O2 sensor (single wire) and throttle position sensor connectors.
Middle picture: Not sure, don't look like factory connectors. Probably A.I.R. diverter valve, possibly choke heater wire.
Bottom picture: Not sure, but I think that's the kicker solenoid wire.

I agree about the top picture.
Can't see anything well enough in the middle.
The bottom looks like maybe the ac compressor wire.
Is it the correct kind of quadrajet? A computer controlled one? It looks like your shift kickdown cable isn't connected to it.
