demon float level issue?
ok so i have a demon 650 vs carb on my zz4 and decided to check and adjust my float levels.
the primary's adjusted fine. when i moved on to the secondaries i figured i would have to lower it and then take it for a drive to the secondaries would open and then i can check the level.
well when i adjusted the secondaries at idle it lowered with out driving it. i could be wrong but is that normal? i always thought the vs secondaries wouldn't come in till under load
any idea's
also is there a specific carb gasket i should be using? the manifold is a dual plane not sure what flange the demon is. i remember someone mentioning i needed a adapter plate or something right now i believe i have a open gasket on there.

I dont know much about the vs carbs but I think your fine. And the only reason you would need an adapter plate for your carb is if your going from spreadbore to square bore. Other than that the 4150 or open gasket your using is just fine.

Both the primaries and secondaries have idle circuits, even though only the primaries may have adjustments.

i have the 4 corner idle screws but didn't know the secondary float level would lower just from idleing. wasn't sure if that was normal

i was lead to believe if you lower the secondary float level on a vs carb you would not see the change unless you drive it enough to have the secondaries open to use up the gas in the bowl and see the change.

That might be a faster way to do it, but it is pulling fuel out of both bowls at idle.
