Ever run a Duce or Tri carb set up?

Any tips or hint on a duce setup?

Do ya have to buy carbs already set up for it or?

Can I pick up some ebay reman $35 holley 1barell carbs and link them easy?


Any tips on a carb of choice.

yes only 2 1 barrels, this is for the V6 sorry I know.
But Im not spending $3-400 on just a 4bb intake for it.
I can build a duce adapter & get carbs for half that.

[up to my eyeballs in computer junk, don't care if I lose some power n MPG going carb, bye bye computer crap.]

 

And before ya say I have done everything to get a stock carb setup, all tries have fallen through. Im ready to just make something.

And if I do I am usign the stock MPFI base, not removing the lower intake.
And so to get good flow to all ports, its gonna hafta be a dual carb setup or sit way up monster high.

So each 1bb will feed 3 cylinders. As they would line up nice over them and be able to stay low and get good flow.

 

Decided against the single carb manifold from an S-10?

 

Well yes and no, I had given up trying to find carb parts for a 2.8 and had decided to just build myown stuff.

But then at the last sec a guy finally came through.

85 GMC S15 Gypsy 2.8 700R4 77,000 miles $200,
working AC and all, engine spun a rod bearing as it spent its life as an around town truck, kid drove it not even 100 miles but it was highway use and it didn't like it after being babbied so many years.

Gonna swap all the carb stuff over, once its running good I may just swap everything back into the S15 then dump a 8 into the Bird.

Still intrested in duce tips though.

 

I don't have any personal experience with multi-carb setups, but it sounds to me like more trouble than it's worth. A lot of engineering goes into intake manifolds to make sure they perform properly, I'm not sure how that would work out. Be interesting to find out though.

 

multi carb setups were are because of the need for more carburetion that is available in a single carb at the time. They have no performance advantage over a single carb, in fact, they generally make less power.
