Know the problem and cause, don't know how to fix it (Code 54)

1991 RS, originally a 305 TBI, now a carbed (Holley) 350. I recently took the fuel pump from a manual switch (previous owner) to the original relay. Now I have a code 54 (low voltage somewhere in the fuel delivery system).
I know the ECM is connected to the relay which works because the pump primes for 2 seconds when I put in the key and tun it to run. The relay does not click again when the car starts (I presume the oil pressure sending unit is powering the fuel pump as the car continues to run when I drive places). The ECM is not turning the fuel pump back on because it isn't detecting engine pulses (Tan/black wire, pin D5 on the ECM). This is because the 4 pin connector containing the tan/black wire is dangling in the air near the firewall.
My problem is that the distributor does not have anywhere for me to plug in to. Is there something else that I can connect the brown wire to (tach signal?) so that the ECM knows the engine is running?
