Call me an idiot for this but... I am using the stock 3.1 mpfi fuel pump on my carb'd 357. I have the Summit/Holley http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G3131B/ regulator hooked up with the in-tank fuel pump coming in the right side, the fuel return connected at the bottom and the carb line hooked up on the right side, ( http://www.holley.com/data/Products/...199R7914-3.pdf page 3 figure 2A). I also have a AZ-Mr. Gasket fuel pressure gauge w/max psi of 15. When I turn the pump on by the rocker switch inside the car i am getting fuel leaking by the metal dual carb lines going to my holley 770 St. Avenger. I thought okay maybe I need to adjust the regulator, so, as per the instructions I backed off the pressure almost all the way, made sure ALL lines & fittings were snug. Still getting a fuel leak where the rubber line meets the metal carb feed line, and with the pump on I get NO fuel PSI reading. The gauage is new as is everything else. The carb is deff getting fuel as I can crack the throttle and see fuel spraying...WTF?!?! Please help this idiot, this is one of 2 things keeping me from firing up the engine for the first time and breaking in the cam

 

You need a different regulator that is a return style, right now your fuel pump is pushing like 45-50 psi to the regulator, which cuts it down, but the excess fuel has nowhere to go.

 

Okay so that regulator is getting "killed" by the factory V6 pump. So will this mallory http://www.malloryperformance.com/Pr...minselection=4 solve the problem? Is this the only one that'll work for what Im doing? I've looked them up on the major sites but am not sure if others, B&M, NX etc. will do the same job...

 

Yep - that's the one you need! Or any equivalent RETURN-STYLE regulator.

 

supposedly, the one i have http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G3131B/ Is a return, or atleast the instructions show an aoptional way to hook it up so that it is a bypass regulator. In the item description though it says "Style: non-return", which is what has left me confused bout the whole friggin thing....

Update:

Im an idiot. Called Holley, the guy confirmed for me that the regulator I have is intended for external aftermarket elec. fuel pumps. I assumed I could use it with my stock V6 elec. pump. He said that the regulator I would need would be the mallory 4309. Needless to say it was ordered after i got off the phone with Holley.
