After I pump start my car it idles high at 1500. While its warming up it raises to 2500 but when I press the gas it drops back to 1500. When I start drivivng and put the car in park the rpms raise back to 2500. When I turn car off I feel the tranny clicking hard. After driving for a while eventually it drops to 1000 rpms and everything from there is smooth no problems at all. Can anyone tell my what the problem might be.

 

Sounds like your choke isn't opening up. Is the choke light coming on?

Check first for power at the choke thermostat. If you're getting 12 volts (engine has to be running), then your choke thermostat isn't doing its job.

 

Choke light only comes on while I'm starting the car as soon as it starts it goes right off
