fuel pressure regulator problems

I am having problems with my fuel pressure was woundering if anybody has ran into this problem and could help me out. I recently dropped a 350 carbed engine in my 86 and i am running a holley blue pump part# h6194, cant get fuel pressure under 12psi , tryed 2 different regulators 3 port 3/8npt in and out, the numbers on them make me believe they are for blue pump, 1 i bought new was for a blue pump also. I have not deadheaded fuel pressure before regulator so i can tell you what that pressure is yet. if it matters i am running -8an lines with 1/2 aluminum lines. thanks in advance for any help, i need to get this thing on the road soon. Can a fuel pump problem cause this????

Re: fuel pressure regulator problems

first one was procomp junk, only thing chinese in my car other than probably radio, anyways it was advertized to be comparble to a blue pump regulator, after that tryed on my buddy had, looked the same anyways, identical other than saying holley on it, i dont have the part number but i can look if that helps. one i have in there now is a holley 34r 66579 only number i see on it cant find any info on that number but i hope r stands for red, the other thing i might try tomarrow is adjusting it when running, was checking with engine off.
