Which line is the feed line?

I searched and can't find a definite answer. It's an 84 Sport coupe that had a 305 4bbl with a mechanical pump. It now has a 350 with an electric pump and regulator. The pump is behind the rear seat in the differential well and it's connected to the 3/8 line, is that the feed line or is it the 5/16 line. I would think it would be the 3/8 but just wanting to make sure. Thanks in advance.
