A few issues...
Ok, well ever since I got the car, it has been rattling underneath the car whenever I am decelerating or downshifting. I thought it might be something in the cat, but it sounds like it's more toward the manifolds (pass. side to be specific).
Another issue...lately I've been hearing a constant "tick-tick-tick-tick" under my hood, and it sounded like it was coming from the distributor, but it's in fact coming from the carburator. It also does it when I just turn the key on, but not start it. It does it for about 20-30 seconds and then shuts off, but when the car is running, it's constantly ticking.
If anyone knows what these sounds are, please let me know, as they are driving me crazy!

The ticking from the carburetor is the mixture control solenoid cycling. What you described is completely normal.
The rattling could be the cat, the A.I.R. tube that goes to the cat, the exhaust hitting the chassis, or the heat shield above the cat. You might want to check your transmission mount if you happen to be under the car anyway.

Ok cool, thanks! My friend says that the "ticking" in the carb is NOT normal (she has the same carb on her 350 in her Elcamino and says it doesn't do that), but you seem to know quite a bit about these cars from what I've read in your previous posts I've come across, so I'll trust you. The ticking is quite loud though...maybe if I made a video of it and try to capture the sound?
