quick qeustion, adjusting my float..
So I rebuilt a rochester quadrajet the best i could. (hey it still turns on and drives lol) but i was told if i don't adjust my float right, it will never run right. Do i still have to adjust it if i didnt mess with it when i rebuilt it? i took it out and put it back in...from what i read, adjusting it involves bending some tabs or something...? i didn't bend anything. does it still need adjusted? if so, what does it need to be set to? my carb number is 17085526. i read somewhere it needs to be 7/16" ...if i do still need to adjust it, what "tab" do i bend. the one that the needle is attatched to?

Scroll down to Figure 6C1-1A. It shows how to check the float level with the carb assembled and running.
If you changed the float needle and seat when you did the rebuild, typically you need to readjust the float. The rebuild kit instructions should have shown you where to bend the float to adjust it, but basically it's the area that looks like a notch from the side, between the hinge pin and the floating portion of the float assembly.

Re: quick qeustion, adjusting my float..
thanks that helped alot, i was looking at the right spot...but i was looking at the little tabs thinking i had to bend both of them up or down. It just didn't make sense to me how that would adjust the float lol. thanks
