right board??
right board??
I guess this goes under carbs, its about an hei distributor. Anyway i have this distributor:

It was on the car when i bought it. Since then ive changed the rotor cap and coil with msd parts. Now i want to adjust the vacuum advance and i read its adjustable. I called tech support and was told to insert allen wrench into the port and turn clockwise or counter to adjust. Ive bottomed it out, turned it in about halfway, and tightened it in. It just will not change how much vacuum advance i want. Its always at about 22 extra at part throttle.
Is there something else you must do to change it? Im not sure if its just the canister and obviously i cant return it, but i might just buy a different canister if no one knows!

It may have something to do with the quality of the distributor. I bought one of these, and it never worked at all for me.

The adjustment isn't for the amount of vacuum advance you get, it's for the amount of vacuum required to get it to advance.
