How can I clean my carb, and restore it?

I just bought this 83 Firebird, 2.8L and this is the first car I work on, so I dont know anything about carbs, how can i work on this carb? is a Rochester Varajet E2Se

Either buy a rebuild kit and a how to book or get a reman carb from the parts store or ebay.
