Holley 4552-1 + TV Bracket and Carb Adapter
Hey all,
The carb that is on my 350 that I purchased is marked as "List: 9834" which I cross checked to being a model 4552-1. I found that info here. http://www.holley.com/data/Products/...99R10015-1.pdf
I seem to be having a hard time finding the correct TV cable bracket and corrector for the side of the carb. I have found this one. http://www.jegs.com/i/Holley/510/20-121/10002/-1 Will this fit my carb?
I also found this TV and throttle cable bracket http://www.jegs.com/i/Holley/510/20-113/10002/-1
Would this fit my carb? Sorry if I am asking too many questions....
I just want this to work well the first time time guys and I really appreciate the help.
Thanks

Alright thanks kd5icr, one more thing though. I need the TV adapter for the side of the carb don't I? I mean without the right geometries, it will tear my tranny apart correct?

No you shouldnt. All I did was bolt it up and go. As long as the cables fit on the carb fittings you are good to go. Once you bolt it up you will see that everything lines up. All the cables snap right into place.

Yes, you do. If you don't use a geometry corrector bracket, you risk burning up your transmission.
You need both of the brackets you listed, if you don't have the one that bolted to the intake manifold.

Re: Holley 4552-1 + TV Bracket and Carb Adapter
You're really supposed to have both. The last one obviously to hold the cables in place, and the kickdown bracket makes sure the tv cable is pulled the proper amount for how much throttle you give it. Otherwise it'll be okay at wide open throttle after you do the clicks to set it, but your transmission pressure's going to be wrong at cruise and idle because the cable wont be pulled the right distance.
Rather than one like your last link, I used http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G1414/ and http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SPE-2429/ to hold the cables in place, and what a pain. Tons of grinding involved and washers as spacers in some of the bolts to fit everything together. But lets me adjust the exact position of the throttle cable so my pedal is in the proper position though. I really cant say for sure if that one you showed is the proper one though. That list number makes it a 4160 carb? ( http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billav...20listings.pdf ) With a 700r4 trans, I think you want the 20-95 bracket.

I didnt have the problem you guys are talking about. I had no problem with geomitry. Thats was on the old setup on the 82 berlinetta with the stock manifold. I am doing the same with the 85 Z28 only with a preformer intake, however the carb is a older model 600. Here is a photo of the 82 berlinetta I sold with the cable braket only.

Without the proper throttle arm bracket to correct the cable geometry you risk transmission damage as well as incorrect shifts. The location of the cable stud relative to the throttle shaft centerline is definitely different (I can show you how different by putting the throttle arm for an early non-computer controlled TH-350 trans QJet next to the throttle arm for a later computer controlled 700R4 trans QJet).
Holley carbs were never installed by the factory in the era of automatic overdrive transmissions, hence they never offered one with the proper stud location for a TV cable trans (700R4, 200-4R, etc) that alter line pressure inside the trans depending on throttle position. Holleys were only ever installed in an era when transmissions used a simple kickdown cable (TH-350) that was nothing more than an on/off switch to tell the trans when to kick down to the next lower gear (and had no effect on line pressure inside the trans).
That being said, it WILL work without the linkage adapter, but not properly. It'll get you from point A to point B. I've done it quite a few time in a pinch (helping out a friend who obviously didn't know you needed an adapter bracket finishing up an install late at night). You can get it close enough to drive around in. But over the longer term you want the geometry to be right or you can do damage to the trans, plus the shift points will be wrong either at WOT or at part throttle. Impossible to get them both right without proper linkage geometry.

Re: Holley 4552-1 + TV Bracket and Carb Adapter
I have made a mistake and I am willing to admit it. I had the older model that didnt need it.
This is from the Holley website:
700R–4 Kickdown lever attaches to throttle lever of Holley model 4150/4160 carburetors. Designed For vehicles with GM 700R–4 automatic overdrive transmissions. Includes bolts and instructions.
Kickdown Bracket for 700R4
Installation Notes:
The 20–121 should be used in conjunction with transmission kickdown / throttle cable brackets such as Holley PN 20–95 (steel) or the Holley PN 20–112 and 20–119 (aluminum) brackets.
NOTE: The 20–121 is not designed for use with some early model Holley carbs, Holley Dominator, Chrysler or Ford specific throttle levers.
