Hey guys, I just installed a new edelbrock open air cleaner. What all do I need to do to the hoses from the stock air cleaner? There is one big hose running from the engine that hooked into the left side, one running from the carb to the bottom of the original air cleaner and one running from a thing labeled thermvac to the bottom of the original air cleaner. I currently have the one that runs from the carb to the air cleaner plugged and the large hose that runs from the engine to the side of the air cleaner is just loose. Is there anything else I need/should do? Thanks

Re: New air cleaner questions
Is the "Big Hose coming from the engine" coming out of the valve cover? If so, you need to put a breather in the valve cover like this one http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRO-141-616/. The hose that runs from the carb to the air cleaner can be taken off, and you can plug it right at the carb if you want (just to make it look a little better). Regarding the one labelled thermvac, where does it start and end?

Re: New air cleaner questions
Thanks for the fast reply. I am going to order a breather cap now. The hose that you are asking about runs from the thermvac module to the underside of the stock aircleaner and plugs in right next to the hose that runs from the carb to the underside. It attaches to a module labeled AC. The hose that runs from the thermvac doesn't actually attach to the car anywhere. I have been going by this article https://www.thirdgen.org/ultimatetbi and it mentions a sensor I need to relocate. I can't seem to find any sensor nor do I know what it looks like. Any ideas on the sensor or the thermvac tube? Thanks

Re: New air cleaner questions
I would definately hang on to that stuff you pull off.

Might need it down the road to pass a visual emission check during inspection.

Re: New air cleaner questions
Okay the thermvac hose i believe goes to a flap on the aircleaner snorkel. When your engine is cold, it closes this flap which allows it to take hot air off the exhaust manifold. This is to help your engine warm up faster. Once your engine has warmed up, the flap will open, and it will suck cooler air from outside. You can get rid of this hose and you do not have to worry about any sensors.

And just like 3rdgenmaro said, make sure you keep all your hoses and parts from the original air cleaner.

Thanks for all your help guys. I am definitely going to stash away all my parts for later. Thanks again!
