quadrajet main air bleed sizes M4M series jet effects
I have one older M4M and it has a small main air bleed
I have a newer M4M and it has a much larger main air bleed.
The main air bleed is in the air horn and looks like it is pressed in piece of brass in the end of the triangular extension which sits centered on top of the primary venturi.
Since the jets-rods work with the main air bleed in metering fuel would a smaller main air bleed improve idle circuit response? smaller air jet means more fuel pulled thru the circuit type of idea.
I read about people drilling out the idle tubes and down channel idle restriction and needle ports, but was wondering if simply shrinking the main air bleed would make a difference. Or does the main air bleed only affect the main jets? Meaning bigger air bleed should have a bigger main jet size than a smaller main air bleed?
