Fuel Gauge Problems
Recently I installed some new gauges in my car. The previous cluster didn't work at all. anyhow, one gauge refuses to work correctly. I've tried another gauge and the same problem persists. this leads me to believe that the problem is the sending unit. I Go to the Junkyard all the time, but there are some things that i don't prefer to use from the junkyard. A Fuel sender would be one of those things. I would prefer a new one, especially if i have to drop the fuel tank to install it. Do you guys know where i could find a new sender?

I would want to do some more troubleshooting before going that far. Do you have a multimeter, with voltage and resistance modes? If not, buy or borrow one (they aren't more than $10-$20 for a decent one). Check the resistance across the sender wires back by the tank. If open, then you probably have a problem either with the wires or the sender that would require dropping the tank.
If you do have resistance, then check for voltage from the chassis side of the connector. If you don't have voltage, then find out why.
I don't know of a source for a new sending unit. I have one that worked when removed (converted to LS1, put in an EFI sending unit).
