With the computer gone they don't do anything.
Some keep them in the car in case they want to change back / some cut them out

Re: tbi to carb

I posted that I had a wiring harness for a tbi setup on the parts for sale board and people bought parts of it off my car. So I just cut the peices they wanted and made some money back. You just need to switch to a non computer controlled HEI dist. I found a great deal on the Jegs Street/strip hei. Sells for around $100, loooks just like a msd. Then put in a fuel pressure regulator to keep the pressure down.

Re: tbi to carb

all the sensor wiring comes from the passenger side and can be removed as one complete harness, no cutting required. a non CC distributor will be needed and just need to get power to it. you said you've already got the fpr figured out (and you will need to rewire the fuel pump relay to get power). don't forget the TC lockup as well since you're pulling the engine computer

Re: tbi to carb

Chris: What I did on mine was use the OEM fuel pump relay and the wires from the oil pressure sending unit. The OPSU originally has 3 wires on your car, one for the guage (a small wire), and 2 for the fuel pump (1 in and 1 out - the one in comes from the battery, other goes straight to pump). I cut the wires from the relay, and the larger 2 wires from the OPSU. Wired the relay as 1) a ground, 2) a hot-in-run, 3) wire #1 from OPSU, 4) wire #2 from OPSU.

So - when you turn key on, the hot-in-run activates the relay, which in turn makes the connection between the two OPSU wires, and runs the pump.

This makes the pump run as long as the key is on. AND - this takes the OPSU out of the fuel pump equation - I've had the OPSU go bad, making the pump run all the time util it kills the battery, and I've also had it go bad and leave me with no pump, thus taking it out of the fuel pump circuit made sense to me.

As long as that 3rd smaller wire is still connected to the OPSU, you still have a functional oil guage.

Anyway - that's how I did mine. Good Luck!
