Ok so friend of mine was helping me with my idling issue, and while looking at it he said I needed to replace the fuel solenoid. when I went to the advanced auto parts site they didnt have anything come up that looked like what he showed me. Any Ideas?

 

Do you mean the Mixture Control Solenoid which is the plastic plug that sticks out on top of the carb?

If that's what your friend is refering to ( there's an explosed view of a CCC carb you can look at to get the proper part names ), then ask him why he thinks this is your problem. They rearly go bad. Seems odd to me that your friend is telling you to replace a part he doesn't even know the proper name of. Big red flag!

 

you can test that part by lifting the hood/taking air assembly off so you're just looking at the carb, then turn the key to the run position but don't start the car. if you hear tick tick tick from your carb for 10 seconds or so then it works.
