CCC Qjet, running lean?

The car is an 85 Firebird with an LG4. When I got the car it was a vacuum and emissions cluster f&#%. Some stuff was broken, some wasn't hooked up, and a chunk of it wasn't even there. The knock sensor has been clipped and none of the sensors are there or hooked up. I pretty much had to rebuild all the wiring. I Pulled off all the emissions stuff, redid the necessary vacuum lines, and rebuilt the carb. After that the car was running pretty well and netted 22 mpg @ 65 with stock gearing / tires. I read this was normal and was pretty content with things.

Couple days ago I finally threw the stock iron exhaust manifolds in the garbage (Were they belong) and put some Hedman long tubes on and a dual 2.25 inch exhaust on. Now under acceleration I get some miss (What I am assuming is a lean miss) I have the initial advance set to 12 degrees. The vacuum advance is still hooked up (Not sure if its doing anything) Can someone give me some pointers to smooth things out? I like the Qjet for its responsiveness and MPG.

What makes you assume it's a lean miss?

Not sure. I had an off idle bog when taking off from a stop, and I richened up the idle circuit a little bit and it went away. So I assumed the miss under load was the same.

Re: CCC Qjet, running lean?

Are you saying you're running the stock CCC carb with a vacuum adnance/non CCC distributor?

No, its a stock distributor. Its vacuum advance is still plugged in.

Where are you from? You can't have a stock CCC carburetor and a stock vacuum advance distributor.
