Re: change over to carb?????

You can change it over to a carb. I have swapped mine over. I would first say that if my injection was working I would not have swapped the carb on it.
You need to find a 2.8 carbed motor from an s10 or early 2.8 Camaro and get the intake. I got mine from a non computer controlled S10 and grabbed the distributor and air filter housing and carb at the same time. It was a fairly easy swap but you will have some adapting or blocking off for things like the brake booster, egr, and smog as well as all the vacuum lines.
The upper air conditioner compressor bracket will no longer bolt up so that will need a modification.
The carb is a rochester varijet 2 in line 2 barrel. For another alternative see the thread

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/carb...rb-84-2-a.html .
In this thread a TBI intake is modified to bolt a regular 2 barrel carb on. This allows the original throttle cable to be used with some modifications as well as a better carburetor. Still need the non computer controlled distributer with Vacuum Advance.

Re: change over to carb?????

Should have mentioned the fuel pressure regulator and rewiring for the fuel pump. With the early 2.8 intake I also had to modify the upper radiator hose. The bolts for the carb base are also a real pain to loosen or tighten. I got rid of the electric grid in my base gasket also.
