Tuning Issue

Got my cliffs carb rebuild kit on my 77 gm 350 carb (had it all professionally done). I put the carb on the car just to find a fuel leak in the fuel line. I changed the fuel piece and now its not leaking fuel anymore, however it wont start for more then 2 seconds then it blows out what I believe to be pressure (more like white smoke actually) and kills off. The pcv line is connected and the other small line coming by the distributor is hooked up. What should I be adjusting?
The carb is on a 72 camaro 350 block with flattop pistons and edelbrock performer plus cam. Compression is 10:1

White "smoke" is typically just fuel vapor puffed back out of the carb.

Did you do anything else since the last time it was running?

Re: Tuning Issue

Well I rebuilt a different carb so the adjustments are probably all different. It was running the first time but the rpms just kept climbing slowly. I adjusted the idle screw some but now I'm having nothing but problems so I'm guessing thats the only one I really need to adjust. I just don't understand where to set it to start and why I'm spraying fuel back out of the carb?

Re: Tuning Issue

My carb was doing the same thing at first, just had to adjust how much fuel it was taking and the idle screw was mostly my main problem. If you cant get it to run right after messing with that maybe they possibly screwed something up rebuilding it?

Re: Tuning Issue

The shop that did it I know did it right, they do a lot of quadrajets. To adjust the fuel intake its the screws on the front of the throttle plate correct?
