can't find the calibration lead

I can't find the calibration lead on my '87 305 w/ quadrajet. what color is the wire (engine installer may have cut the connector end off) and where is it on the wiring harness?

Re: can't find the calibration lead

I recall it was on the passenger side wiring harness kinda halfway back to the firewall. Single wire with a green encosed blade-style connector on the end. Everyone thinks it goes somewhere but can't figure out where to plug it in (because there is nowhere on the vehicle that it plugs into). Sometimes people cut it off because of this.

Re: can't find the calibration lead

Thanks, Damon. I think it may have been cut off by the last engine installer. I may be able to tap into one of the wires at the metering valve connection. The wire is tucked in the conduit tube, I'm sure. I installed the Q-jet on an Edelbrock performer manifold and the engine runs fine; I just want to check cal.

Re: can't find the calibration lead

correct. it comes off of the ecm harness just after it passes into the engine compartment by the right fender at the blower motor. green wire/green connector. should be within six or so inches of the blower motor.
