Stock Quadrajet Issue
Well to start off the car is a 1984 Camaro z28 CC quadrajet. It has 96k miles on it and I just bought it a few months ago.
After about a month of having the car I thought that I would do all the normal stuff to it: oil change, fuel filter, and tune up.
Well I got through the oil change and did the fuel filter but before I could do the tune up I had to leave for a little bit. When I went and started my car it seemed like it was misfiring terribly so I went back and change the plugs and wires and it stopped went away but it had stalled on me a few times when I came to a stop at a light or slow down real quick. I turned up the idle and it seemed to help it and it has been like that for a couple months now, but it seems bad for the car that it is idling at 1100 rpms. I was just wondering if there is anybody that knows what I could do to fix this without changing the carburetor because I want to keep the car original.

What do you mean by "tune up"? You said after the tune up you changed plugs and wires. Something doesn't line up here.
Ignition faults cause more "carburetor" problems than carburetors do. Make sure it is all up to snuff before going anywhere else. Then make sure all vacuum hoses and components are operating properly (no leaks, failed vacuum components, etc.).
Then, set everything to factory specs. Timing, idle speed, IAB, TPS, etc.
I don't quite see how a loose AV spring adjustment could cause this. First, the "vacuum break", aka "choke pull-off", also holds the AV closed at all but full power conditions. Even if the AV was flapped open at idle, there still has to be air flow through the secondaries sufficient to pull fuel through the secondary circuit. Not likely to happen.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like it was running fine before you decided to do the maintenance things on it. Most likely you just missed something simple.

Re: Stock Quadrajet Issue
I latched on to the "stalling" when slowing down or stopping...then he adjusted his idle to compensate, so that's what I focused on. You're more right than I am after re-reading his whole post over again.
He never finished doing the tune up after changing the oil. He did the oil, left, came back, started it, found it running poorly so he finished the tune up which didn't fix anything. If i'm reading his post right, the issue started some time after he started the oil change and before he changed the plugs/wires etc. As you say Five7, it's probably something simple.
