Recently my choke light came on and the car has a high idle and diesels when shut off.

I checked the choke relay and believed it was the issue, but that hasn't fixed the problem. Fuse keeps blowing as well.

The alternator is working fine, though when looking at the schematic there is supposed to be a wire going from the alt to the choke relay. The alt connector has 1 wire connecting to itself, like in the schematic, but the other connector's wire isn't there and hasn't been since I got the car 4 years ago.

The previous owner(s) didn't really take care of the car and there are wires and tubes going nowhere, things are rusted and falling off....the car is a mess and I am doing what I can to save her.

Turns out it was the choke thermostat. Replaced the 8182C with an 8182D and the car is running as good as it was before the choke light came on
