computer bypassed, need to find away around a switch.
ok so my camaro was swapped from a 305 fuel injected, to a 350 carb, ( before i got the car) for this setup to work the computer was bypassed. a switch was added to the car for the fan, when the car hits around 220, i turn the switch on to cool it off or it will over heat. the switch is kind of anoying because i forget to turn if off sometimes and it could kill the battery. any ideas on what i can do to get around this ?

If what you're worried about is running the battery down, you could put a relay into the fan power circuit that is turned on by switched power.

use a relay controled by ground given by radiator fan switch part no. D1852B (ac delco), normally used in TPI/TBI engines, it is located on right cylinder head

Tom,
My car runs a carbed 350 (gmperformance 385 fastburn), only cooling fan I have is a mechanical flex fan, very similar to this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/fl...make/chevrolet
I never have overheating problems unless I'm sitting in traffic on really hot days.

Re: computer bypassed, need to find away around a switch.
I'm wiring up my cooling fan right now using the original cooling fan relay. I can get the fan to work with 12 volts from the battery but when i wire up the relay, it just clicks and no fan. The relay only has letters, no numbers. Here is what I have from the relay connector; black/red to fan, red to battery, brown/white to ign, green/white to switch. Does this sound right?

Is the red wire hot at all times?
Is there power out of the relay on the red / blk ?
