Vacuum leak? Idle issues.

Hey folks. So my car was not shifting right (too early) my kick down linkage was busted. Fixed that. I then noticed that there was a disconnected vacuum line. Attached that but once I did my car would not kick down from high idle when you run the car. Not sure what's gin on and when I took it off it idles at 750 rpm. Any idea or input would be appreciated folks.

Since I'm fairly new here 84 camaro v6 2.8 2 barrel carb stock. Picked her up as a project.

I know it's a weak motor. But I have plans for her lol.

Looks like you've had no feedback. Did you figure out what that vacuum line went to?

Yeah the internals of the carburetor (valves, jets) were toast. The efe gasket was also busted in 3 different places. I ordered a new carburetor and a new gasket. Both will be in tonorrow.

What was capped off? The EFE on my 305 V8 has nothing to do with the carburetor.

Re: Vacuum leak? Idle issues.

people talk alot of smack about the 2.8, its not the most powerful but it goes and they are bullet proof. Mine had 290 thow on it and the only reason I pulled it out is because I finished building a 350 for the car. I also kinda wish I built a turbo six because the car was soo light and nimble with a v6. Not saying the v8 plows but your notice the extra weight!

Well the fact that it's broken in 3 different places could have caused some of my issues. The carb is on runs and idles just fine. I'm in the process of working thoes vaccum lines. This should be fun.

not capped off // some of those lines broke and rotted away, found some on the side that were melted to the block.
