Need serious help with vacuum hoses
Hey guys. I have an 86 Camaro with an LG4 I believe, i still haven't checked the VIN on the enging itself, the title says "H" but it has a 5.0 H.O. air cleaner on it... anywho, I'm having some trouble finding out where some of the vacuum hoses go because I didn't do most of the work on the car. I've been getting a check engine light, and getting code 53, which has something to do with the EGR vacuum, so i located it and the hose is just sitting there with nothing on it. it looks like something was there at some point but came off? It's very short and doesn't reach anywhere. any idea where it might go? I hate looking at the diagram because it looks so much better there, but im really dealing with a mess of hoses in the engine bay. A picture of where it's connected and routed would be easier for me to find and understand. Also there is another hose that isn't connected to anything but it's coming out of port "T" on the carb and goes to the left "facing the engine" and ends up under the fuel filter connected to nothing... The port "N" on the carb is missing the vacuum hose completely but don't know where that goes either. the bottom left of the intake manifold "facing the vehicle" also has something disconnected (could be connected to that hose coming from port "T"?). Thanks guys, and pics would help a whole lot

Understood the diagram, but I got some pics to show you guys what I mean. I fixed the EGR. i replaced the hose with a new one and reattached the sensor to the EGR valve.

Re: Need serious help with vacuum hoses
That's a reservoir to keep vacuum on things like the HVAC and cruise control under power, when vacuum lowers. That looks like an earlier version, judging by what was on my '86 (sphere under the "battery tray" on the front left corner of the car) and '82 (just like that).
My '86 LG4 didn't have that port, but my '82 did. It's a clean air source for the EGR valve, so it can release when the computer takes vacuum away from the EGR valve.
Since you have an L69 air cleaner on an LG4, I suspect you also have a carb that came off of another car.
That's the HVAC vacuum supply line. Goes into the passenger compartment to the heater control.
Not sure about the capped tee. What does the line go to that goes behind the vacuum reservoir? Your pics don't show it.

Re: Need serious help with vacuum hoses
Thanks for your help guys, I'll get some more pics up. I figured the carb was replaced considering the 5 speed iroc z's usually came with an LG4, not a L69.

Re: Need serious help with vacuum hoses
As for the capped T, it goes under the HVAC vacuum into the firewall/cabin,

Re: Need serious help with vacuum hoses
dang it man, I tried to help you out, and mine isn't as set up as well as I thought it was
maybe you can help me with a couple of things.
In the middle of this pic is a vaccum port sticking out of the thermostat housing, it's not attached to anything, can you tell me what It's supposed to be hooked up to?
Also, in the lower left corner of the pic there's a sensor with the broken clip. not sure if the sensor is good or not, but the terminal is a mess. what's the sensor called?

Re: Need serious help with vacuum hoses
That vacuum port on the thermostat housing goes to the EFE and "Air MGMT Valve" use the diagram for reference... https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...iagrams-i.html

Re: Need serious help with vacuum hoses
Though I heard you don't really need it, it's for emission control through the coolant on start up
