High pressure regulator to low pressure
Hello all,
I was curious if any one knows how to turn a Summit Racing SUM-220066 regulator for high pressure to low. I know some can be changed back and forth and was wondering is a simple spring change would do the trick.
BTW, this is a bypass return regulator.

They only advertise it to go down to 30 psi. Some regs come with two spring choices so you can do either low pressure or high pressure, but this one doesn't appear to.
What you could do is turn it down as far as possible, then put a less-expensive dead-head type reg between the current reg outlet and the carb inlet. You'd still have the return function your fuel pump needs (assuming you are running an in-tank fuel pump), and the lower pressure your carb needs. Cheaper than buying a new return-type reg.
Or, try to find a spring to replace the current high pressure spring in your current reg.
